Scratch repair and paint touch-up are related, but they are not the same job. A mark in transferred material or the clear coat may polish or level out. A scratch that removes color needs paint work. Damage that reaches primer or bare metal needs a different preparation and finish plan.
Photos taken in daylight from more than one angle help us see the scratch length, depth, panel location, and whether the mark is on top of the finish or through it. The final approach is confirmed on the car.
